This week, Sonic Sound have the absolute pleasure of supporting the Wellington Operatic Society in their electrifying amateur production of School of Rock at The Wellesley Theatre in Wellington. As passionate advocates for the arts and our local community, we were proud to provide a full suite of professional sound and lighting equipment—completely free of charge.
To help bring the show to life, we loaned:
- 🎭 4 Moving Wash Heads – for dynamic, colorful stage lighting
- 💡 8 Wireless Battery Uplighters – to add atmosphere and depth, and a bit of eye-candy
- 🎤 Microphones, Stands & Cabling – ensuring the band was crystal clear
- 🎧 Wireless IEMs (In-Ear Monitors) – giving the band clear, personal audio mixes while cutting down on room noise
- 🎚️ Allen & Heath SQ-5 Digital Mixer with Stage Boxes – for seamless audio control of the band, linked into their SQ-7 for Front of House mixing with an additional S-Link card.
- 🔌 4-Way Ethercon Multicore – for reliable, high-quality signal distribution
- 🎟️ Cue Lights – to keep the backstage crew perfectly in sync
The energy, talent, and dedication of the cast and crew were truly inspiring, and we’re thrilled to have played a part in making their production shine – both literally and figuratively.
At Sonic Sound, we believe in giving back to the community that supports us. Whether it’s a school play, a local gig, or a community theatre production, we’re always happy to help where we can.
It’s opening night tonight… break a leg, Wellington Operatic Society – you’ll rock it!
