We were delighted to work with Monaux on a recording session capturing stems for mastering. Monaux is an instrumental “psych electronica” project – the side venture of the UK garage-surf band Palooka 5 – and it made for a fascinating and rewarding day of work.

Sonic Sound provided six ways of wireless in-ear monitoring, full instrument miccing, and multitrack recording of stems ready to be sent off for mastering. Giving each player their own clear, independent monitor mix meant the band could lock in and perform at their best, while our recording setup captured every layer cleanly and separately for maximum flexibility later in the mix.

Having worked with the Palooka 5 team before, it was great to team up again on something a little different – and we can’t wait to hear the finished, mastered result.
